What We Do

A. Tutoring Services

  • The Writing Center offers tutoring to students to strengthen their writing skills through in-person and online tutoring sessions.
  • Students’ work is reviewed, not edited, for organization, word choice, academic tone/language, sentence structure, paragraph structure and standard American English grammar. A typical tutoring session ranges from 30-45 minutes, with additional time allotted to English Language Learners or students with a documented learning disability.
  • The Center maintains a file on all tutoring sessions.
  • Students can be referred for tutoring by faculty from the six graduate schools of the Division of Graduate Studies.
  • Self-referrals are encouraged.
  • Requests for a tutoring session are to be made at least 48 hours in advance.

To request a tutoring session, contact Michael Aiello, Administrative Assistant to the Director, at Michael.aiello@touro.edu
