Institutional Compliance

The Office of Institutional Compliance (“OIC”) helps ensure the effective management of the University’s business and risks.

The mission of the OIC is to assist the Touro University community, with its various constituencies and programs, both domestic and abroad, in carrying out its academic mission with integrity and in accordance with the University’s legal, regulatory, and ethical responsibilities.

The OIC is charged with ensuring the awareness and responsibilities of all Touro employees in developing and maintaining a compliance-conscious environment. Additionally, the OIC establishes methods for the continuous assessment of the compliance efforts in upholding the integrity of Touro’s standards.

Since high standards are of utmost importance, the OIC formalizes what is expected of Touro’s community members by making sure that the University’s policies and procedures are being followed, as well as local, state and federal laws. The OIC is able to accomplish its goals by conducting risk assessments, monitoring operational activities, delivering training sessions and administering quality assurance reviews, among other tools used to help reduce the university's risks.
